At a special ceremony, on May 3 rd in the Silver Springs Moran Hotel, the Lord Mayor of Cork Cllr. Deirdre Clune presented Europass Mobility documents to eighty two students from Cork College of Commerce.
Europass Mobility Documents are part of an EU wide initiative to promote mobility of workers and students by making their skills and qualifications clearly understood throughout Europe.
As part of their studies in Montessori, Business, Tourism, Childcare, Healthcare and Beauty Therapy, all the students recently completed work placements in Italy (20), Denmark (15), Germany (9), Sweden (6), Spain (5), Slovenia (5), UK (5), The Netherlands (7), and Finland (10). Each students Europass Mobility Document records the activities undertaken and skills gained during the course of their work placement and provides an individual, official record of the time they have spent learning and training in another European country.
Kate McAuliffe , Course Director, Cork College of Commerce said that the opportunity to gain hands on experience in another country with a difference work and cultural environment is of enormous benefit for our students. As well as adding to their overall education it increases confidence and develops their independence in a constructive way.
